Abstract
This working paper analyses experiences and opinions related to the factors motivating emigration from Norway. The data was primarily collected from responses to an online article that introduced the EXIT Norway project and inquired about the reasons why individuals and families choose to leave Norway. Additional data was obtained from emails sent directly to the project leader. The paper identifies and illustrates, through examples and citations from the text corpus, eight overarching themes that encompass these reasons. Among these themes, economic factors and specific aspects of Norwegian culture and way of living are the most frequently highlighted in the texts.
