Dyrtid III. Husholdenes økonomiske trygghet i mars 2023

Abstract

Et økende økonomisk, sosialt og helsemessig skille vokser fram i det norske samfunnet — mellom en halvpart som er økonomisk trygge, hvor livet mer eller mindre fortsetter som før, og en voksende minoritet på 18 prosent av husholdene som befinner seg i motsatt ende av det økonomiske trygghetsspekteret. Blant disse er økonomiske problemer vanlig, til tross for de omfattende utgiftskuttene de har gjort over lengre tid og fortsatt gjør. Også den helsemessige og sosiale situasjon rammes i dette sjiktet av befolkningen.

A growing economic, social and health divide is emerging in Norwegian society between the half of households that are financially secure, for whom life has continued more or less as usual during the cost-of-living crisis with little need to economise and no effect on their health, and the one in five households (18 per cent) at the opposite end of the financial security spectrum where financial problems are the norm, despite the draconian expenditure cuts they have made. Both their finances, health, and social life have been severely affected.
