| dc.description.abstract | Dette er en masteroppgave i Barnehagekunnskap, på OsloMet. Oppgavens tema er sorg og omsorg i barnehagen. Problemstillingen i oppgaven er «Hvordan tenker barnehagelærere om sin rolle i møte med barn i sorg?» Oppgaven tar for seg sentrale tema og begrep i forbindelse med sorg og omsorg i barnehagen. Barnet som subjekt og barnehagelærerens rolle står sentralt. I oppgaven skriver jeg om insider – outsider-perspektivet, der jeg går nærmere inn på hvordan det er å forske i et felt jeg er godt kjent med og samtidig står utenfor. Empirien er samlet inn ved kvalitativ metode, gjennom fokussamtale og dybdeintervju. Masteroppgavens vitenskapsteoretiske utgangspunkt er skrevet med en fenomenologisk og hermeneutisk tilnærming. Fokussamtalen ble gjennomført med tre informanter, og dreide seg om barnehagelæreres forståelse og erfaring med sorg hos barn, selve omsorgsbegrepet, samt den profesjonelle omsorgen knyttet opp mot kulturforskjeller. Den kom inn på informantenes forståelse av barnehagelæreres rolle i møte med barn i sorg, og hvordan barns følelser og reaksjoner blir møtt i barnehagen. Samarbeid mellom barnehage og hjem sto også sentralt i samtalen og ble nevnt som en avgjørende faktor, både i informasjonsflyten mellom hjemmet og barnehagen, og når det kommer til støtten et barn trenger gjennom sin sorgprosess. Barnehageansatte spiller en viktig rolle i barns liv, da personalet vil være blant de som har aller mest kontakt med barnet i det daglige. I tillegg gjennomførte jeg et dybdeintervju med en av informantene, fordi denne satt med mye kunnskap og erfaring som ikke kom så godt fram i fokussamtalen. Intervjuet gikk dypere inn på det som kom fram i fokussamtalen, som eksempelvis at de «små» sorgene er noe de ansatte kan bli litt «immune mot» i det lange løp, og at alle barn skal møtes på en omsorgsfull måte, uansett årsak til sorgopplevelsen. Dybdeintervjuet er med på å gi et fyldigere og mer detaljert innblikk i hvordan det jobbes med sorg og omsorg i barnehagen.
This is a master's thesis in Early Childhood Education and Care (Barnehagekunnskap), at Oslo Metropolitan University. The theme of the thesis is grief and care in kindergarten. The research question of the thesis is "How do kindergarten teachers think about their role in dealing with children in grief?" The thesis addresses key themes and concepts in connection with grief and care in the kindergarten. The child as a subject and the role of the kindergarten teacher are central elements of the thesis. I go into more detail on the insider-outsider perspective, on what it is like to do research in a field I am well acquainted with and at the same time stand on the outside. The empirical data is collected through a qualitative method, through interviewing a focus group and doing an in-depth interview with one of the participants. The master’s theoretical basis for the master’s thesis is written with a phenomenological and hermeneutic approach. The focus group was conducted with three informants and was about kindergarten teachers' understanding and experience of grief in children, the very concept of care, as well as the professional care linked to cultural differences. It touched upon the informant's understanding of the role of kindergarten teachers in dealing with children in grief, and how children's feelings and reactions are met in the kindergarten. Cooperation between kindergarten and home was also central to the conversation and was mentioned as a decisive factor, both in the flow of information between home and kindergarten, and when it comes to the support a child needs through its grieving process. Kindergarten staff play an important role in children's lives, as the staff will be among those who have the most contact with the child in daily life. In addition, I conducted an in-depth interview with one of the informants, as this person had a lot of knowledge and experience that did not come out so well in the focus conversation. The interview went deeper into what was uncovered in the focus conversation, such as that the "small" grief is something the employees can become a little "immune to" in the long run, and that all children should be met in a caring way, regardless of the reason for the grief experience. The in depth interview helps to provide a fuller and more detailed insight into how work is done with grief and care in the kindergarten. | en_US |
