Performance evaluation of wi-fi networks
Abstract
Given the number of wireless devices in use is growing drastically, the bands are going increasingly congested. Asking home users in that developed world about their wireless connection,
they are likely arguing that it seems to be getting worse not better. Access Points chooses a
radio channel randomly and therefore causes interfere the other wireless networks, while the
wireless traffic grows. The objective of this thesis is to examine what happens when two networks disturb each other and discuss this phenomena. Performance measurements of wireless
networks will be carried out. Throughput testing when two wireless networks working at the
same channel at the same time and interfering each other will be measured. In addition, the
measurement of single wireless network will be evaluated to produce different result in a condition without the presence of interfering network to compare results.
