Barnharn kunstnerisk utviklingsarbeid i samarbeid med barn: Muntlig fortellerkunst Eufemia og Englefjert - en nesten sann historie fra middelalderen i Oslo

Abstract

This study describes the work involved in creating a storytelling performance based on the medieval history of Gamlebyen in Oslo. The study deals with the various strategies and methods that I have employed in collaboration with children in elementary school, focusing primarily on the creation of an oral storytelling performance. I see the collaborative development of oral storytelling with children as part of a complex didactic process which has formed the basis of this master’s project. I have studied the connection among art, play, and aesthetic practice in the context of art and learning and how these factors can influence children as co-creators and lay the foundation for a manuscript of an oral storytelling performance. An important point has been to illuminate relational strategies and the potential that these hold as a starting-point for collaboration with children. My work is relevant for anyone working with storytelling, drama and theater, and the performing arts in general.

Denne studien baserer seg på mitt arbeid med å skape en muntlig fortellerforestilling med utgangspunkt i middelalderhistorikk i Gamlebyen i Oslo. Studien tar for seg mangfoldet av strategier og metoder jeg har brukt i samarbeid med barn i grunnskolen med hovedfokus på å skape en muntlig fortellerkunstforestilling. Samtidig ser jeg utviklingen av muntlig fortellerkunst i samarbeid med barn som del av et sammensatt didaktisk prosjekt, noe som har dannet grunnlaget for dette masterprosjektet. Jeg har forsket på hvordan sammenhenger mellom kunst, lek og estetisk praksis i kunstneriske og kunstdidaktiske kontekster kan ha betydning for hvordan barn som medkonstruktører kan være med å forme utgangspunktet for et manus til en muntlig fortellerkunstforestilling. Jeg har forsøkt å belyse relasjonelle metodestrategier og det potensialet som ligger i disse som utgangspunkt for å samarbeide med barn. Arbeidet mitt er relevant for alle som jobber med fortellerkunst, drama, teater og scenekunst for øvrig.
