While sexual violence is a threat to both men and women in war and conflict, cases con- cerning male victims are largely absent from public discussion and women’s vulnerability regularly assumed. This paper suggests that procedures for journalist safety are influenced by a male-aggressor/female-victim paradigm, underestimating the vulnerability of male colleagues and discriminating against women.
