dc.description.abstract | In this master thesis I will look at the use of digital tools in the primary school subject arts and craft, and I will focus on Microsoft Paint. The goal is to find out if there is a possibility of using this free and highly accessible software as a drawing tool in school. The thesis is divided in to two studies, in the first study I will build up an understanding of the software by experimenting with its tools. The knowledge I gain by doing this, will then be used to specify a user manual for the software. The second part of this survey will be a case study, where I approach 16 chosen informants to find out if the user manual works in a clarifying way. In this part I will also study to see if art education and ICT skills affects their use and experience of the software. This dichotomy is what forms my thesis questions: With the aim of Microsoft Paint becoming an integrated tool in the subject Arts and crafts at primary school level:
1.) How can the tools in Microsoft Paint be specified into an appropriated user manual?
2.) Has drawing and ICT -skills an impact on the experience of Microsoft Paint as relevant software? | nob |
| en_US |
