Abstract

Denne masteroppgaven undersøker hvordan klima og miljøproblematikken blir framstilt i fire nyere barne- og ungdomsromaner. Felles for alle bøkene er at de skal inneholde klima og miljøproblematikken, at de er utgitt i de siste ti årene, og er skrevet av norske, populære forfattere. Jeg valgte to ungdomsromaner: Anna. En fabel om klodens klima og miljø (2013) av Jostein Gaarder og @Ally_trip. En klimaroman (2020) av Katrine Lekang, og to barnebøker: Vinterkrigen (2017) av Erika Fatland og En himmel full av skyer (2018) av Arne Svingen. Denne oppgaven baserer seg hovedsakelig på forsking fra økokritikkfeltet, klimapsykologi og klimapedagogikk. For å besvare forskingsspørsmål som er knyttet til etiske aspekter ved litteraturen ønsker jeg å trekke frem forskere og teoretikere fra rettsvitenskap og det litteraturfagfelt. Det teoretiske grunnlaget som etterlyser rollen av “childrens environmental texts” og “ecocitizen” er vesentlig i denne oppgaven.

This master's thesis examines how climate and environmental issues are presented in four recent children's and youth novels. Common to all the books is that they should contain climate and environmental issues, that they have been published in the last ten years and are written by popular Norwegian authors. I chose two youth novels: Anna. En fabel om klodens klima og miljø (Anna. A fable about the planet's climate and environment) (2013) by Jostein Gaarder and @Ally_trip. En klimaroman (@Ally_trip. A climate novel) (2020) by Katrine Lekang, and two children's books: Vinterkrigen (The Winter War) (2017) by Erika Fatland and En himmel full av skyer (A sky full of clouds) (2018) by Arne Svingen. This thesis is mainly based on research from the field of ecocriticism, climate psychology and climate pedagogy. In order to answer research questions that are related to ethical aspects of the literature, I want to highlight researchers and theorists from jurisprudence and the field of literature. The theoretical basis that calls for the role of "children's environmental texts" and "ecocitizen" is essential in this thesis.
