Samarbeid i sceniske produksjoner: En undersøkelse av samskaping som metode for samarbeid.

Abstract

Dette masterprosjektet omhandler samarbeid i sceniske produksjoner. Jeg har undersøkt på hvilken måte en samskapingsprosess i et kunstnerisk team kan bidra til et godt samarbeidsklima og en kreativ prosess i en scenisk produksjon fra mitt perspektiv som kostymedesigner. Dette har jeg gjort gjennom en sosiokulturell vitenskapsteoretisk forankring med aksjonsforskning som forskningsmetode.

Jeg søkte svar på denne problemstillingen gjennom ulike undersøkelser. For det første måtte jeg finne ut hva et godt samarbeid kan være, noe jeg gjorde gjennom to forundersøkelser. Jeg startet med semi-strukturerte intervjuer av tre kostymedesignere hvor jeg stilte spørsmål med tema samarbeid i sceniske produksjoner. Deretter gruppeintervjuet jeg teamet bak forestillingen HertZling, som jeg selv var del av, om det samme tema. Disse undersøkelsene samt utvalgte teorier og metoder dannet grunnlag for hovedundersøkelsen. Hovedundersøkelsen var et laboratorium hvor jeg inviterte aktører som skulle samarbeide gjennom prinsippene til en samskaping-prosess. Jeg deltok også aktivt selv i denne prosessen. Laboratoriet fikk navnet Samskapingslaboratoriet. Hver av deltagerne ble invitert til å bidra med et kunstnerisk bidrag ut fra tema konstruksjon/dekonstruksjon. Samskapingslaboratoriet bestod av fire samlinger hvor vi sammen utforsket det kunstneriske materialets potensiale.

Undersøkelsen funn kan tyde på at en samskapingsprosess kan føre til et godt samarbeidsklima gjennom samskapingens åpne og inkluderende natur, forutsatt at rommet føles trygt for å dele. Den kreative prosessen i en samskapingsprosess kommer til syne når aktørene inspireres og farges av de andre kunstneriske bidragene.

This master’s thesis deals with collaboration in the making of a performance. I have investigated how a devising process in an artistic team can contribute to a good collaborative climate and a creative process in the production of a performance from my perspective as a costume designer. My research is based on a socio-cultural scientific theoretical foundation with action research as a research method.

I sought answers to this question through various surveys. First, I had to figure out what a good collaboration can be, something I did through two preliminary studies. I started with semi-structured interviews of three costume designers where I asked questions about collaboration in the making of a performance. Next, I did a group interview with the team behind the performance HertZling, of which I was a part, on the same topic. These studies as well as selected theories and methods formed the basis for the main study. The main study was a laboratory where I invited participants who were to collaborate through the principles of a devising process. I also actively participated myself in this process. The laboratory was named Samskapingslaboratoriet. Each of the participants was invited to make an artistic contribution based on the theme of construction / deconstruction. Samskapingslaboratoriet consisted of four workshops where we explored the potential of the artistic material together.

The study findings may indicate that a devising process can lead to a good collaborative climate through the open and inclusive nature of devising, provided that the space feels safe to share for all participants. The creative process in a devising process becomes apparent when the participants are inspired and colored by the other artistic contributions.
