The 20/20 vision readers – the readers with no vision impairments, are able to read text and perceive information simultaneously while this is not very easy for people who are visually impaired. 20/20 vision readers or readers with normal vision (“What Does 20/20 Vision Mean?,” 2016) can quickly get an overview of the information within a text; however, it is not as easy for the visually impaired. This project introduces us with United Nations declaration on right of access to information. It carries out a detailed study on possible factors affecting the successful screen reading and the possible factors that can contribute towards the improvement of screen reading. The efficient text extraction, summarization and representation techniques are discussed so that the resulting text carries the intended essence for the readers. This research leads towards the development of a new summarization technique, which is referred to as On Demand Summary Generation and Text Tagging – ODSG&TT. This technique makes use of a summarization algorithm (“Summarizer - Algorithm by nlp,” n.d.) and text tagging algorithm (“AutoTag - Algorithm by nlp,” n.d.) developed by Algorithma, which enables visually impaired to summarize the text using a button control. When a user presses this Summarize button in ODSG&TT it displays the summarized text and keywords within the same webpage dynamically and focus of screen reader is also transferred to the keywords using a button control and summary section with minimum navigation and simplified and faster approach towards screen reading.en
