«Å komme på rett spor» - En kvalitativ studie om betydningen av en omsorgsovertagelse

Abstract

«Å komme inn på rett spor» Denne oppgaven handler om tre voksne som har opplevd en omsorgsovertagelse til fosterhjem da de var barn. Problemstillingen utforsker hvilken betydning en omsorgsovertagelse tillegges å få for omsorgssituasjon. Undersøkelsen tar utgangspunkt i omsorgssituasjon i biologisk familie, gjennomføringen av omsorgsovertagelsen og omsorgssituasjon i fosterfamilien. Hensikten med denne studien har vært å få innsikt og økt forståelse for hvordan voksne som har opplevd en omsorgsovertagelse da de var barn forstår sine omsorgssituasjoner i ettertid. Studien ses utfra et fenomenologisk og hermeneutisk vitenskapsteoretisk ståsted og funnene er basert på semistrukturerte intervjuer av 3 informanter. Analyse av funn er gjort utfra en hermeneutisk tilnærming og presenteres i en tematisk analyse. Funnene i analysen viser at: Informantene beskriver sin omsorgssituasjon i biologisk familie å ha vært barn i en sårbar, vond og vanskelig situasjon der deres behov for omsorg ikke ble tilstrekkelig ivaretatt. Omgivelsene tillegges å få betydning for hvordan informantene forstår sin egen situasjon og danner mening ut i fra den. Informantene tillegger at det å komme inn i fosterfamilien får betydning for hvilken posisjon informanten får i fosterfamilien. I fosterfamilien danner informantene nye relasjoner hvor de får nye erfaringer med omsorg. Informantene tillegger at den nye erfaringen med omsorg får betydning for at de kommer inn på rett spor i livet. Informantene forteller om å ha stått i ulike situasjoner der de må finne mening utfra sin situasjon. Underveis i denne prosessen forteller de om å ha gått igjennom store og dyptgripende omveltninger hvor deres forståelse forandres underveis. Som en del av de prosessene informantene har gått igjennom fortelles det om danne mening i sin egen situasjon og hvordan andre er med på å danne mening til deres situasjon.

”Getting on the right track” This paper is a study based on interviews with three adults with experiences from care-order and being taken into foster care when they were children. The issue of this paper explores the meaning of care-order and how this is assigned to the situation of care. The analysis is based on the care-situation in a biological family, the implementation of the care-order and the care-situation in a foster family. The purpose of this study has been focused on getting an insight and increase the understanding of how adults with experiences from foster care understand their care situation in retrospect. The study is viewed from a phenomenological and hermeneutic epistemic view. The findings are based on semi-structured interviews with three informants. The analysis of the findings is done with a hermeneutic approach and is presented in a thematic analysis. The findings in the analysis show that: The informants attribute their care situation in their biological family and being a child in a vulnerable and difficult situation where their need of care was not sufficiently attended. The surroundings and environment is given an importance in the matter of how the informants understand their own situation and form their sense of understanding. The informants assign the matter of being taken in to foster-care to be given meaning for their position in the foster family. In the foster family, the informants make new relations and gain new experiences with care giving. The informants assign their new experiences with care giving in the foster families to have an importance of getting back on track in their lives. The informants share their experiences of being in different worlds and circumstances in which they need to find their meaning based on their situation. During this process they share their experiences of going through grand and fundamental changes in which their understandings change during the process. As a part of the processes the informants have gone through it is told to form meaning considering their situation and how others impact their meaning of their own situation.
