Sammendrag
Article 1 presents an overview of cognitive and behavior analytical approaches to categorization and concept formation. Particular emphasis is placed on how the phenomena can be understood in conjunction with the formation and merging of stimulus classes in behavioral analytic research and litterature.
Article 2 is a systematic replication of the Arntzen, Granmo and Fields (2017) study. Twenty two participants aged 24–60 years, were divided into two groups and taught 12 conditional discriminations, using the Many-to-one trainingstructure and the simultaneous protocol in a maching-to-sample format. In Group 1, sorting tests were presented after conditional discrimination training to assess the immediate emergence of three experimenter-defined stimulus classes. In Group 2, matching-to-sample tests were presented after conditional discrimination training to assess the immediate emergence of three stimulus equivalence classes. Seven participants in Group 1, and nine participants in Group 2, showed the immediate emergence of classes.
