Stemmelaboratoriet: En analyse av musikk i teaterhendelsen

Abstract

Denne masteroppgaven handler om musikk som kommunikativt virkemiddel i teaterhendelsen. Med utgangspunkt i forestillingen Stemmelaboratoriet, har jeg her gjort en analyse av hvordan musikk har påvirket kommunikasjonen i denne teaterhendelsen. Mening skapes i kommunikasjon mellom skuespillere og tilskuere, det er en stadig utveksling av handlinger og reaksjoner gjennom hele teaterhendelsen. Jeg har hatt tre fokusområder i den teatrale kommunikasjonssituasjonen: kunstneriske intensjoner, opplevelser og tolkninger. Knyttet opp mot disse tre har jeg brukt tre teoretiske tilnærmingsmåter, for å se om blikket de ulike retningene gir vil kunne bidra til å forstå mer av musikkens påvirkning av den teatrale kommunikasjonen Å finne metoder som passet for å analysere mitt prosjekt var viktig i arbeidet, og de teoretiske tilnærmingene og deres fremgangsmåter er derfor også vektlagt. Masteroppgaven og den praktiske delen av masterarbeidet er knyttet tett sammen, og står i sammenheng.

This master thesis is about music as a communicative device in the theatrical event. On the background of working with a theatre play called Stemmelaboratoriet (“The Voice Laboratory”), I have made an analysis of how music affected the communication in this theatrical event Meaning is created in the communication between the actors and the audience, and there is an ongoing exchange of actions and reactions throughout the theatrical event. I have focused upon three main areas of the theatrical communication: artistic intentions, the experiences and interpretations. I have seen these three in connection with three theoretical approaches, in order to find out if the different perspectives these theoretical approaches offer will contribute to a better understanding of the theatrical communication. Finding methods suitable for analysing my project was an important part of my work. Therefore the theoretical approaches and their methods are also emphasized. The master thesis and the practical master’s exam are closely linked together, and are to be seen in correlation.
