The aim of the study was to investigate what characterizes the use of digital technology in bachelor-level practice placements in health programs. A systematic review of reviews was conducted and was based on Joanna Briggs Institute Framework. Bibliographical databases were searched for studies published between 2010–2022. Out of 4891 screened articles, 15 met eligibility criteria and were included in this review. The analysis revealed three main topics that elucidate what characterises the use of digital learning strategies in placements: flexibility and independence, confidence and security, and cooperation and network. The findings show that digital technology used in at structured pedagogical framework may both support and enhance students learning in practice placement, but further work needs to be done to keep up with the rapid development of digital technology in education.
