”Exploring ways to make Tromsø more inclusive for new residents and encourage them to stay in Northern Norway”
Abstract
Abstract
This project aims to investigate why people choose to move away from the North of Norway and how much the climate and weather play a role in their decision-making process. The study involves both locals and immigrants with a connection to Tromsø and uses the Design Thinking methodology to gather insights. System-oriented design methodology is also used to make connections and analyze the data. The project explores the complexity of what people find attractive and inclusive. The goal is to identify areas for improvement or potential development, with a main look at societal inclusiveness. reflection and speculations have played a big part in the project, imagining the ripple effect from potential interventions, and the impact it might have on choosing where to live.
All the data, insights, and analyses are mapped out in a Gigamap, which can serve as a source of inspiration for future city development in Tromsø. The gigamap can also be expanded upon with further research.
