Abstract
This systematic literature review examines the impact of social media engagement on English language learning across various age groups, ranging from primary to university students. Based on 24 empirical studies, the analysis will look at if integrating social media into language instruction offers numerous opportunities for learners to enhance their language skills. The review reveals that social media integration positively correlates with a range of language skills. These skills include vocabulary acquisition, oral communication, writing proficiency, reading comprehension, motivation, and engagement. Drawing on theoretical frameworks such as Krashen's Input Hypothesis and Swain's Output Hypothesis, the review discusses the role of social media in providing authentic language input and opportunities for meaningful language output.
