Intensivsykepleieren sin erfaring som mobil intensivsykepleier

Abstract

Bakgrunn: Mobil intensivsykepleier (MIS) som funksjon ble opprettet for ca. 30 år siden. Tross flere tiår med funksjonen er det lite forskning om intensivsykepleierens erfaring med å være mobil intensivsykepleier. Hensikt: Hensikten med denne undersøkelsen er å finne kunnskap om erfaringene til intensivsykepleiere med MIS-funksjon. Undersøkelsen kan bidra med å evaluere funksjonsbeskrivelsen og videreutvikle funksjonen. Problemstilling: Hvordan erfarer intensivsykepleieren sin funksjon som mobil intensivsykepleier? Metode: Undersøkelsen er et kvalitativt forskningsarbeid, med dybdeintervju som metode. Seks intensivsykepleiere ble inkludert i undersøkelsen. Resultat: I denne masteroppgaven har det blitt avdekket erfaringer intensivsykepleiere har til MIS-funksjonen. Erfaringer som utpekte seg var blant annet utvikling av egen kompetanse, pedagogisk funksjon og pasientsikkerhet. Det ble også trukket frem at funksjonen er nyttig, både for sengeavdelingene og intensivavdelingen. Konklusjon: Informantene hadde gjennomgående en positiv erfaring med MIS-funksjonen. Informantene føler at funksjonen er nyttig, og bidrar til kompetanseutvikling og pasientsikkerhet. Funksjonen er også en plattform for veiledning og undervisning.

Background: Mobile intensive care nurse (MICN) was established as a function about 30 years ago. Despite being established several decades ago, there is little research about the intensive care nurse´s experience of being a mobile intensive care nurse. Objective: The aim of this study is to find knowledge about the experiences of intensive care nurses with MICN function. The survey can help to evaluate the function description and to further develop the function. Problem: How does the intensive care nurse experience the function as a mobile intensive care nurse? Method: This survey is a qualitative research work, with in-depth interviews as the used method. Six intensive care nurses were included in the study. Results: In this master's thesis, the experiences of intensive care nurses with the MICN function have been identified. Experiences that stood out included the development of own competence, pedagogical function and patient safety. It was also pointed out that the function is useful, both for the wards and the intensive care unit. Conclusion: The informants had a positive experience with the MICN-function throughout the survey. The informants feel that the function is useful and contributes both to competence development and patient safety. The function is also a platform for guidance and teaching.
