| dc.description.abstract | Increased use of evidence-based practice and reduction in the variation in service offerings are challenges that the specialist health service faces. New and effective treatment methods must be implemented to a greater extent, which are evidence-based and individually adapted to the patient.
Leaders have an important role in the implementation work by influencing, being an active participant and facilitating that change can take place. The thesis examines how leaders can facilitate the implementation of evidence-based practice for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the specialist health service resp. district psychiatric centers (DPS) and child and adolescent psychiatric clinics (BUP) from the therapists' point of view. DPS and BUP are part of mental health care that is responsible for providing treatment to people with mental health problems. They are organized under the health trusts.
Description of what is implementation, implementation phases and factors, as well as implementation leadership and the full spectrum model for leadership is the theoretical basis in the thesis. The data consists of interviews with nine therapists in mental health services, and a qualitative research design has been used.
In summary, the thesis has focused on three themes; the opportunities to provide peer support / guidance, emotional support and practical support. Topics that emerged as important from the therapists' point of view in order to be able to implement evidence-based practice. | en_US |
