dc.description.abstractArtikkelen presenterer funn fra en undersøkelse av holdninger til brukermedvirkning blant nyutdannete sosionomer og barnevernspedagoger fra to høgskoler i Norge. Generelt mener kandidatene at barn og foreldre bør ha stor innflytelse på egne saker, men de er mer forbeholdne i spørsmål som gjelder utvikling av tjenestetilbudet og forholdet til saksbehandler. En analyse av underliggende faktorer tyder på at oppslutningen om idealet om brukernes selvbestemmelsesrett kommer i konflikt med intervensjonsorienterte synspunkter. Motforestillinger som vektlegger tiltak for å beskytte barn framfor hensynet til brukeinnflytelse, er mer utbredt blant barnevernspedagoger enn blant sosionomer. Dette kan ha sammenheng med forskjeller i fokus på brukermedvirkning som tema i undervisningen ved hver av de to utdanningene.language
dc.description.abstractThis article presents findings from a study of attitudes concerning user participation in municipal child welfare services. Recent graduates of programmes in social work and in child welfare education from two university colleges in Norway were questioned. By and large these recent graduates believe that children and their parents should have a great deal of influence upon their own cases, but they have reservations about the influence of user participation in the development of child welfare services. These recent graduates are concerned about the impact of user participation upon the relationship between users and their caseworkers. An analysis of underlying factors appears to show that support for the ideal of user self-determination is in conflict with intervention-oriented points of view. The counter arguments favouring initiatives to protect the child at the expense of user participation are more prevalent among child welfare educators than social workers. This difference seems clearly related to the attention given to user participation in the programmes of study.language
