Master i barnehagepedagogikken_US
This thesis is mainly driven by empirical evidence and deals with an action research project in a preschool. The startingpoint of the thesis is this preschools way of organizing their educational work. The preschool is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and uses the educational documentation as a planning, assessment, reflection and modification tool. In the action research project, we are looking at a first meeting with the iPad in the preschool -where both children and adults starts with a clean slate. Observations and documentations describes the experiences of both children and adults, and make up a first sorting. The project group's interpretations and analyses of documents gathered in their project report will be the second. We have furthermore conducted conversations where we have gone back to the reflection-meetings and seen both the texts and images that have been selected, and also on the recording of the meeting where the meeting structure and the reflections that are being bearing can be viewed. The last and fourth level is sorting and analysis done by me when I compile the material and look at it in the light of a theory-practice discourse. My goal with the further analyses was to see if a new theoretical perspective could help us see the materiality in a different way than we had done earlier. I also wanted to see if we were able to create new theories together - beyond the distinction between theory and practice (Lenz Taguchi). The iPad in itself is a big part of the thesis, and we conclude that it is a material that can both gather and engage the children. The iPad can contribute to building relationship, and a lot of communication and experience exchange is taken place among the children. We have learned that the physical meeting with the boards varied greatly between the children, but after only a few meetings with the iPad all of them used it in almost the same physical way. We also noticed that a lot of the same commitment and energy that we have seen when the children have explored water was present in the meeting with the iPad. We have also learned that the possibilities the iPad gets is dependent on the interest and knowledge of the adults. The adults provide opportunities or constraints, and it is also they who choose content on the tablet. We have looked at the meeting with different perspectives and we've tried to approach a post human idea of materiality. It turned out to be difficult for me to present and introduce this perspective. We struggled to find meaning, see the context and what these theories could bring to our practice.en_US
