Veien hjem i Lisa Aisatos En fisk til Luna

Abstract

Det norske bildeboklandskapet har overveiende hatt karakterer med vestlig utseende, men det siste tiåret ser vi en tendens til at det er noen eksperimentelle bildebokskapere som utforsker spørsmål om migrasjon, identitet og forskjellighet. En av disse forfatterne dr Lisa Aisato. I denne tematiske lesingen av hennes bok En fisk til Luna (2014). diskuterer vi det å finne hjem. Vi lever i en tid som trolig' krever helt nye fortellinger - fortellinger som utfordrer tanker om tilhørighet og som utforsker eller utfordrer forestillinger om det hjemlige og det som er annerledes, og kanskje til og med fordrer nye grunnstrukturer. I utforskningen av relasjonen mellqm hovedkarakteren og ballongfisken hennes, støtter vi oss til begrepene «landscape» og «mindscape» og til to begreper om det kulturelt hybride subjektet i en postmoderne virkelighet, brukt av den indiske litteraturforskeren Homi-K. Bhabha: «unhomely» og «in-between».

However, there area few experimental authors and illustrators who explore the issues of migration, identity and difference. One of these is Lisa Aisato. In this thematic reading of her book En fisk til Luna (2014) we address the concept of homecoming. The protagonist in the story meets a lost Mola mola, possibly a toy balloon, searching for the way home. In aur analysis we ask ourselves who is in need of a guide, is it the lost toy or the protagonist? Can we claim that there is such a place as home in a world of cultural transpositions of Patria, where do we betong? Our analysis pertains to themes of identity such as the in-between and of the unhomely, of mindscapes and landscapes. The theoretical framework is the postcolonial theory of Homi K. Bhabha.
