dc.description.abstractThis research investigates the Norwegian policies formulated by the government as a result of the immigrant influx of 2015. The paper tries to assess if these policies are a hindrance in the way of providing basic human rights to immigrants and asylum seekers. This paper discusses the impact of the Norwegian temporary refugee policy regarding basic human rights. The text is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is an introduction and problem identification, the second chapter analyses Everett Lee’s theory of migration along with the human dignity utopia and the role of immigrants and refugees in Norwegian society and their social participation. The third chapter is research methodology and data collection, in this paper data tracing research method has been used, data tracing method to verify the impact and effects of these legal policy changes. The next chapter is findings and analysis of the legalization aspect of the immigration policies as it focuses mainly on discussing the newly formulated laws in the light of UNHCR’s refugee rights. The fifth chapter is the discussion in which the paper analyzed that the policy that aimed to solve the crisis have detrimental effects on other groups. The research concludes with a summary of the changes made and their legal standing regarding the provision of basic human rights.en_US
