With an overwhelming interest in Industry 4.0 based on published articles for the past couple of years, the topic for this study is Industry 4.0 and a presentation of its concept. The history of this originates from Germany with the three previous industries that lead up to Industry 4.0. The concept is divided between its main components, design principles and trends related to Industry 4.0 to get closer to the demonstration of the gap that is missing in current theorywhich is the primary interest for the research question of this study. The gap that is missed, is to find a strategic way to manage the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies and how to handle this integration. Methods that were used in this research bibliometric method to examine and analyse previous existing literature in this field of Industry 4.0 with strategic management as a focus. A structured search on the Web of Science gave access to relevant dataset, which identified the core articles for the research that findings are based upon. Hence, analysing the content led to findings that were presented with a framework, which explains the integration levels of Industry 4.0 and ways to manage each level by strategic purpose. These levels are project management level, process management level, organisation management level and staff management level. At the end of the research, there is a discussion on further research to open further discussion in this field, with this research as a basis.
