regresjonsanalyse ble brukt for å finne ut i hvilken grad sykepleierstudentenes praksisopplevelse hadde
noen betydning for mestringstro.
dc.description.abstract | Background and aim: Half of the nursing students’ basic education consists of clinical practice. The aim of this master’s thesis is to explore which parts of clinical practice the nursing students are the most content about and what influence clinical practice might have on self-efficacy. This might be useful for the future design of the nursing education.
Theoretical framework: The self-efficacy theory of Albert Bandura is used as theoretical framework in this study.
Method: The materials used in this study were part of the “Studdata - Database for Studies of Recruitment and Qualification in the Professions”, a quantitative survey database maintained by OsloMet. The study includes 409 nursing students in their final term of basic education during spring 2015. Satisfaction with the clinical practice part of their basic education was measured using percentage of answers to specific questions regarding the clinical practice part of the study. Linear regression analysis was used to determine the extent to which nursing students' practice experience had any impact on self-efficacy. We also checked for possible influence of some selected sociodemographic variables.
Findings: Nursing students answer that they are generally satisfied with the clinical practice part of the study. Satisfaction with the clinical practice part of the study was found to have a significant association with higher levels of self-efficacy. The students who also reported having completed some form of higher education prior to starting nursing study had a significant association with higher levels of self-efficacy.
Conclusion: Previous studies have shown that self-efficacy has an impact on student performance in the clinical practical part of the program. This study suggests that satisfaction with the practical part of the basic nursing education affects self-efficacy levels in a positive manner. More research is required on the subject. | en |
